About our school
Cranbourne is one of three academies in The Hoddesdon School Trust. The three schools chose to create this formal partnership because we share the same ethos and philosophies, and believe that by working together we can create an even better educational experience for your children.
Cranbourne is a two form entry primary school set in the Hundred Acre estate about a mile from the centre of Hoddesdon.
Our buildings are spacious and well maintained, with large classrooms, two halls and a library. We have two computing suites each with 32 computers. Our purpose built nursery provides a welcoming and stimulating environment for our youngest pupils.
We make full use of our very extensive grounds. We have four playgrounds, a fitness trail for the older children and play/climbing area for the younger ones, a woodland area, quiet areas, picnic benches, an outdoor classroom and a large enough field to cater for several football pitches, rounders pitches and a running track depending upon the season.
We are a UNICEF Rights Respecting School at Gold Level, and hold the Primary Science Quality Mark at Gilt level, the British Council International Schools award at foundation level, and The Primary Languages Quality Mark at bronze level. Our School Council has twice been recognised in the Speaker's Awards from Parliament.
We are proud of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere within our school. It is a school where every child really matters and every family is made to feel part of our community.
We are committed to providing a broad, balanced, knowledge-rich curriculum.
We aim to promote an ethos that encourages independence, responsibility and questioning minds, in an inspiring, caring atmosphere where everyone feels valued.
We aim to give children the skills that they will need in their future lives and to nurture well rounded individuals who care for each other and their surroundings.
Above all we aim to give the children a primary school experience that they will never forget.
