Art
Our art curriculum is designed to systematically build skills children need to create their own pieces of art in a variety of media. This is closely linked to learning about the work of famous artists and their signature works. We have tried wherever possible to focus on artists whose works can be seen for free in the UK. Children learn about the process of creating a finished artwork, from original thoughts, concepts and sketches, up to a completed piece.

The Cranbourne Gallery
We have a gallery space in our main corridor where we exhibit work by our pupils. The work is selected on merit. It is an exhibition which varies throughout the year, showing work from all year groups.
We are currently showing drawings from the sketchbooks used in years 3 to 6. The children use the sketchbooks to practise skills, experiment with media and composition, and refine ideas for a final piece.
The exhibition show cases the development of drawing skills as an integral part of the artistic process.

Artist in Residence
Our Artist in Residence has been delighting the children with her paintings and drawings throughout the year. The children enjoy seeing the artwork emerge from the blank paper and talking to the artist as she works.
We really appreciate our Artist in Residence and thank her very much for taking the time to come into our school on a regular basis and give the children such a wonderful experience.

Art Club
Josie is currently on maternity leave so the Art Club is not running.
Hoddesdon Library Displays
We have been regularly displaying work in Hoddesdon library for some years now. Here are some of our past displays.
