History

The aims of history within the primary curriculum for Danes Educational Trust are to inspire pupils’ curiosity about the past and develop their understanding of how history shapes the present. It seeks to equip our pupils with the skills to ask perceptive questions, think critically, and weigh evidence. The curriculum aims to help pupils develop a coherent knowledge of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. Through engaging and meaningful learning experiences, it fosters a sense of identity and an appreciation of the complexity and diversity of human history through looking at significant people, places and events over time.
