At Cranbourne we follow the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus. The aim is to develop an understanding of different religions - that they have similarities and differences - and to celebrate the fact that our society is a rich diverstity of beliefs. We aim to send our children into society with an understanding of and respect for the people they will meet throughout their lives.
Children are naturally curious about the lives of others and we harness this as we compare their own lives and beliefs with those who are followers of major world religions and atheism.
World views and big picture themes give the children the opportunity to question and develop their own thinking.
This also ties in with our "We are Young Citizens" programme around British Values.
All children are taught the full curriculum, with adaptations made where required for SEND children. These include, but are not limited to, scaffolding of tasks, changes to the way the children record their learning, and focussing on particular key skills and concepts.
